My Journey Self-learning Arabic (4 Tips)
It's not that all the tips are the best out there, but it is some that really help me throughout 2022 on self-learning in the Arabic language that might be helpful for you as well.
- Watching youtube videos in Arabic language but with English subtitles. You can get these videos mostly on Indonesian youtube because there are a lot of Indonesians out there who translate the lectures of Syeikh Yusof Qardhawi, Syeikh Said Ramadhan & others. Try to make it at least one lecture per day that is with subtitles.
- Reciting the Quran itself, but with the translation per word instead of translation per sentence. Try to make it at least one page per day for these tips.
- Try to force yourself to listen to the lectures of Mufti Menk, Ustadz Nouman Ali Khan, Syeikh Yasir Qadhi, or Ustadz Omar Suleiman. Why? It is because they will explain to you in their lectures the meaning of certain Arabic words being used in the Quran in a very detailed view and explanation which is very helpful for us to better understand the diaspora of certain Arabic words.
- Read at least one hadith, both its Arabic and its translation at least once a day. This will help you also to expose yourself to Arabic and make yourself used to it.
In sum, honestly, I have been practicing these tips throughout this year 2022. But it does not makes me can speak Arabic very fluently, but at least it does make me understand a bit of Arabic when I recite the Qur'an, read the hadith, read any Arabic articles, or when listening to any Arabic lectures. Hope that these small habits will help you to better understand and learn Arabic too. #ActionPills ๐
